I always enjoyed the "big four" team-up books in the 70s/80s: Marvel Team-Up, Marvel Two-in-One, The Brave and the Bold, and DC Comics Presents. Great escapist entertainment, often done in self-contained single-issue tales.
Jim Aparo's run on The Brave and the Bold is possibly my favourite of the four titles, particularly when Bob Haney and Mike Barr were writing. Peak Aparo is my favourite Batman artist, by a long way. I think his cartooning and storytelling are stronger than Adams, which is possibly heresy.
The Cardy Aquaman covers are indeed brilliant. Cardy outside, Aparo inside -- it doesn't get much better! Cardy was a semi-regular B&B penciller after Adams, and that stuff is well worth checking out -- especially B&B #92. And his Teen Titans and Bat Lash series too, of course.
"but I’m frankly terrible at promoting my comics (which can be bought here)."... chef's kiss
Ha ha, it didn't work, so I stand by my comment🤣
I’d like to hear about The United cover design and any process stuff you’re willing to share on here.
I will include a wee bit on my cover process in my next newsletter.
Very striking cover.

Late-60s/early-70s Aparo is a high watermark for comics storytelling. B&B and Aquaman are terrific.
Those Nick Cardy covers on Aquaman! Wow! I need to do a wee piece on those.

Bat Lash is brilliant. Issue 2 has one of my favourite covers ever.
That cover is awesome man!
Thank you, I repurposed the skull from an unused cover I did.bit looks stylised, but there's a lot of storytelling in there too.
It's very cool. You have a flair for good covers
I shat the bed on the early United covers, for sure. Jesus Christ, those were bad.
The collected edition is top notch. Up there with as a favourite of mine, same with Underground.
P.s, 2026 is too long away, get your finger oot! 😀
Sadly I have a full-time job and family.
I hear that.
What exactly have you heard, Dave? I don't know what you're implying.
Hahaha! Just meaning I'm in the same boat dude
I'm just shitting you. Besides, I've met your wife and teenage son😂
